Fairway Village Insulation Overhaul – Leeds, MA
Fairway Village Condominiums roof and attic thermal boundary retrofit located in Leeds, Ma. The results were very evident with the roofs showing no snow melt patterns or menacing ice dams. The condo board recognized that the only effective way to stop the chronic ice damming woes was to interface the insulation retrofit in with the roof replacement.
New Home Priorities!
This newly purchased home that had a history of ice damming & high energy costs. Upon inspection, the attic & front knee wall only had 2" of old insulation. Heat from the living space was escaping into the knee wall area and warming the roof deck which leads to snow melt and severe ice dams. This thermal envelope flaw is very common with Cape styled houses.
Westhampton Cottage Makeover – June 2016
Local general Contractor, Wade Clement, hired Cozy Home to design and rebuild the building envelope of a 100-year-old cottage. Compared to new construction, retrofits require a great deal of thought and detail. This building had post and beam framing along with interior stud wall framing.
